Mood, energy and self-esteem
Weight and mental health influence each other: tiredness, pain and other people's looks weigh on mood, while stress or sadness can drive eating. Judging yourself harshly does not help you change.
Ideas
- Set small, realistic goals and celebrate progress (energy, breathing, clothes) as much as the scale.
- Sleep enough and find activities you enjoy.
- If you eat to cope with emotions or have binge episodes, see a professional: it is not a lack of willpower.
